The past two weeks have been very interesting to say the least. Jeff took on a photo-shoot for a tile company, Achim’s Family of Home Furnishing. Product photography entails way more than just photographing the product itself.
The first thing we did was plan out the 10 rooms by deciding where each room would be shot and then what props we would use. We gathered props such as chairs, couches, tables, desks, lamps, and flowers. Each room has to have about 5 or 6 sets of tiles in them so as each room was set up, we would chose tiles that match the props and also fit the type of room we are trying to create such as a den, kitchen, or bathroom.
The tiles are “do it yourself” so they peel and stick. Jeff is a perfectionist so he will not start the shoot until the tiles look perfect. And as we progress in the process, we are starting to get more comfortable with the tiles and learn exactly how to place them so they look organized and realistic.
Watching Jeff do the shoot is very cool. He can take photos of different sides of the room we set up and place them together on Photoshop making it look like one full picture. The photos Jeff takes are so realistic; they actually look like 10 different rooms with a full tiled floor, which is what the goal is.
We are not done with all of the floors yet but we are making excellent progress. We have a full team to help create the floors, chose the props, and assist Jeff in changing the lighting or moving a prop in order for his photos to look as perfect as possible.Â
